Inside the stone-walled garage, a heated and air conditioned nature studio gives Wilderplayers shelter from extreme temps and wild weather while keeping us one step away from the great outdoors. The nature studio serves as our drop-off and pick-up location and our home base, providing us with comfortable storage for our gear, materials, and supplies.
Outside, we have access to several play spaces including wide-open lawns, a working garden, a farmyard, and a woodland classroom. Our daily routine takes us to different destinations and makes every day an adventure.
Our outdoor spaces are intentionally designed to maintain the integrity of the natural world. We balance the amount of materials provided with the opportunity for open-ended & authentic nature play.
Beyond, 50 private acres await our little explorers! Groomed trails lead us to pockets of wilderness including woods, meadows, marshes, and streams. In the winter we enjoy snowshoe trails, gentle sledding hills, and wind-break in the woods.
Wildlife surrounds us throughout all four seasons. We watch and listen carefully as deer, turkeys, chipmunks, squirrels, birds, and other woodland friends share our world with us.
Our site provides us with the unique opportunity to wander. Our classroom has no walls and our playground is made up of the earth, trees, and sky!
